The sixth book is finally here! My predictions were completely wrong, oh well. For a while I thought the Half Blood Prince would be Voldemort, even though J. K. Rowling said that it would not be. Snape was, however, the obvious choice after you found out about the potions book. When I first finished the book, I thought that Snape was in love with Narcissa Malfoy and that he had indeed returned to Voldemort. However, that is not really J. K.'s style and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Now, I believe that Snape was in love with Lily and that he did not return to Voldemort. Instead, Dumbledore had given Snape orders to kill him if the need should arise because he was going to die anyway and he did not want Snape to die (because of the Unbreakable Vow). J. K. Rowling has given us all a little puzzle to think about while she writes the next book. This puzzle is "Who is R.A.B." I'm not sure if it's important that we know who it is, but it will be fun to guess. At the moment, I believe that it is Regulus Black, Sirius's brother. Well, that's all for now.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be directed by Mike Newell and is planned to come out on November 18, 2005. Originally two movies were planned, but in the end they decided to make only one movie. Because the movie will only be about two and a half hours, certain parts of the book had to go. One of these is SPEW, Hermione's organization to help house elves. I have also heard that the characters of Bill Weasley, Charlie Weasley, and Ludo Bagman have been cut. Here are some of the new characters in this movie and the actors who will be playing them:
Madame Maxime, the headmistress of Beauxbaton, will be played by Frances de la Tour, a 61-year-old British sitcom star most famous for her role in the comedy Rising Damp.
Mad Eye Moody will be played by 50-year-old Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, who has been in movies such as AI, Cold Mountain, and Gangs of New York. He recently played Menelaus, Helen's original husband, in the movie Troy. He has previously acted with Daniel Radcliffe and Predrag Bjelac.
Viktor Krum will be played by Stanislav Ianevski/Yanevski/Janevski (I am
not sure of the spelling).
Cho Chang will be played by 17-year-old Scottish actress Katie Leung.
Barty Crouch will be played by 61-year-old British actor Roger Lloyd-Pack.
Cedric Diggory will be played by Robert Pattinson.
Fleur Delacour will be played by 22-year-old French actress Clémence Poésy.
Amos Diggory will be played by 54-year-old British actor Jeff Rawle.
Igor Karkarof, the headmaster of Durmstrang, will be played by 43-year-old Yugoslavian actor Predrag (Pedja) Bjelac, who played the Italian guy in Eurotrip. He previously acted with Brendan Gleeson in Harrison's Flowers.
Barty Crouch Jr. will be played by scottish actor David Tennant. He has previously acted with Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore), Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall), and Fiona Shaw (Aunt Petunia).
Rita
Skeeter will be played by 47-year-old British actress Miranda Richardson. She played Vanessa Bell (Nicole Kidman's sister) in The Hours and Lady Mary Van Tassel in Sleepy Hollow. She has previously acted with Michael Gambon.
Lord Voldemort will be played by 42-year-old British actor Ralph Fiennes who played Christopher Marshall in Maid in Manhattan
and Amon Goeth in Schindler's List.
